Got a question about SpareTicket?

Below are some commonly asked questions that might help you. If these don't answer your questions, contact us.

Will I have to pay to maintain my subscription?

Currently we’re offering our members free membership and no listing fees. All you have to pay is the small fee associated with Paypal transactions.

How do I prove I have completed my challenge?

The person you have connected with, the ticket seller, has to be confident you have completed the challenge. SpareTicket.com.au is not involved in individual ticket transactions but we suggest you show video or photographic evidence if it is a physical challenge. We have a “challenge evidence form” sheet you can download from which you can use in the photo or video to help prove you’ve completed the challenge. See our terms and conditions for more information.

Will my personal details be displayed for other members to see?

Your personal details will only be seen by SpareTicket.com.au. When first joining you will be asked to create your own “username”, which is known only to you, and this will be displayed whenever you buy or sell tickets. Your Username will be displayed when you have listed a ticket or make an enquiry about a listed ticket, but your contact details will remain hidden in the system. Your username and age will be displayed if you are listing a ticket to connect with friends. If you have chosen to list the ticket with the romance category tagged, your username, age and sexual preference will be shown. Again, only members who know your username will be able to identify you. For more information see our Privacy Policy.

Can I purchase a ticket without being a member?

Only members can list and purchase tickets from SpareTicket.com.au. Members of the public can view all current ticket listings but will be unable to complete a purchase or listing transaction.

How do I change my password?

You will be able to change your password within the "My Account" section. There is a button available to edit your details, you may change your password to a new password from here.

I can’t remember my username, how can I change it?

Unfortunately, you are unable to change your username with SpareTicket.com.au. If you have forgotten your username, you may request that the information be sent to you via the Login screen.

Can I remove my ticket if I change my mind?

Yes you can. You will need to access your account and choose “edit this listing” in your “current tickets for sale” section. You cannot change your mind once a purchaser has provided you with payment (or has selected to complete a challenge) for the ticket or tickets.

Do I have to do a challenge?

Only if the ticket seller has requested it. If you really don’t want to do the challenge but you really want the ticket, we would suggest you make an enquiry with the ticket seller to see if they are prepared to negotiate. The ticket selling transaction is made between the buyer and seller only and SpareTicket.com.au will not take part in the transaction. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.

How many tickets can I purchase at one time?

As tickets are listed by individual users of SpareTicket.com.au and not our website itself, you may purchase one ticket from one user at time. This is due to payment being transferred directly to this user via PayPal. If the user has more than one ticket to the event you have selected, you will have the opportunity to purchase more than one ticket during the checkout process. To purchase tickets from a different user, you must complete a separate transaction.

Can I pay by any other method than Paypal?

SpareTicket.com.au only allows members to transact via Paypal on the site, which means members will need to hold a Paypal account for which they are the registered owner. See www.paypal.com.au for more information on features and security.

What happens if an event is cancelled after I have purchased tickets?

If you have purchased tickets on SpareTicket.com.au, you may be unable to get a refund through the event ticket agency. It would be advisable to check the terms and conditions of the event ticket agency and contact the member who has sold you the ticket/s to see if you will be entitled to a refund or to attend a re-scheduled event.

What happens if tickets I have purchased say I need to show the original credit card used to get access to the event?

Members are encouraged to check the terms and conditions of a ticket before listing or purchasing tickets on SpareTicket.com.au. Purchasers are encouraged to enquire from the ticket seller if there are any special conditions of the ticket prior to buying. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.

How many tickets can I list at one time?

When listing your tickets you can list up to five at a time, provided they are to the same event and have sequential seating. If you want to list tickets to multiple events, you will have to list each separately. That way it will be easier for people to search for tickets to each event – and make it easier for you to connect with other SpareTicket.com.au members.

Can I list my ticket at a price higher than the price I purchased it for?

You can list a ticket for the purchase price, plus any other costs encountered, e.g. postage and handling provided the ticket is not listed for more than 10% above the original purchase price. We do not want scalpers using SpareTicket.com.au. Our site is primarily and event connection hub, so we encourage our members to list prices at a discounted rate. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.
